To test my programming and level design knowledge I created a top-down dungeon game demo in which the player must locate four switches in a maze-like environment as fast as possible.
Blind Bastion has the player navigate through a platformer as a blind protagonist who can only feel where he's going and remember where he's been previously. It was the overall #1 winner to the UOC Game Jam 2022. I functioned as the lead in addition to programming and design for this project.
This project was my EFMP, my conclusion, to my games development course. I tasked myself to identify and solve the theoretical and practical challenges that come with making procedural terrain feel believable and appear navigable to a player potentially playing on it.
Blindsighted is my full remake of Blind Bastion, a previous Game Jam project. Now complete with level selection, lots of new and interesting game mechanics, and original music. Available on itch.io and Steam!
